Don't misquote me, sir.  I can read a tracking cone as well as the next person.  Thus I never would've said (nor did I!) that Irma wouldn't touch the panhandle; I did say she wasn't going to be a GOM storm on an Ivan trajectory (i.e., heading for Pensacola Beach!).  I stand by that    Comparisons to or even mentions of Ivan with no evidence it's going to track that way are gratuitously misleading and unnecessarily frightening to some who were terribly traumatized by that storm and its aftermath, and also runs the risk of fostering a lowering of their guard by some in her actual path.  If you can't understand that...well, it speaks for itself.
As for dry air's existing at some distance north of Irma at the time, that's a far cry from clearly implying that substantial weakening was likely just ahead for Irma.
So while we're expressing opinions, I'll opine that I consider it prudent to keep a certain level of humility and clearly express one's lack of certainty on these things, and yeah, it bothers me a lot when I see the opposite -- especially when people are facing a very dangerous storm and needing to make critical decisions-- and I'll speak up in quick protest, sometimes pretty boldly to get a poster's attention.  That doesn't make me a bully; it makes me a  long-time responsible participant on this board.
