Hi Pretty,  just answered you on the Postal Service thread - didn't see this 'til  now, sorry.
I live on Pensacola Beach (not in Pensacola) and we have no watches or warnings here, though there's a tropical storm warning up about 40+ miles to our east at Ft. Walton/Destin east to just west of Apalachicola, where hurricane warnings begin.
We're under a wind advisory through tomorrow -- winds expected 25 - 35 mph with gusts to 40.   Very windy right now with clouds, a few tiny breaks of sun, occasional sprinkles.  Very rough surf -- in fact six or eight emergency vehicles just went sirening by; someone probably in trouble in a rip.
This short stretch of coast -- from Ft. Walton west to the Alabama border -- is the ONLY coastline on the entire perimeter of the state that has no watches or warnings up.  We are very, very lucky.  Not even bothering to close our hurricane shutters -- no need.  And Law's correct - winds will be northerly (northeast, to be exact).   No surge threat.   Deck furniture's on the south side of house so am not even bringing that in, either.   This is really a piece of cake for us.  SO grateful.  But we've had our hellacious hurricanes before and doubtless will again.
May've told y'all elsewhere that all hotels in Pensacola and out here on the island are booked solid with evacuees.  They picked a good place!!     BBL,     BL
