While it is important to hear the personal stories for persons harmed by the storms its also important to gather an objective overview of the damage from each weather event.
But these objective overviews can be hard to find. They may turn up weeks after the storm, when the news media has mostly moved on.
Most governments rather not advertise their failings to protect lives and property.
