Re: Site Traffic - O/T

Posted by Chris in Tampa on 9/17/2017, 6:37 pm

I saw during Irma that CaneTalk was getting busy. I think there were a few hundred unique visitors during some hours.

I never know how much traffic my own site can handle before it fails. It was mostly working during Irma, then again I wasn't checking during most of it. That's why I appreciate being able to host the model and recon systems at HurricaneCity.

Here were the statistics for my site...

For September, through yesterday:

For last 3 years:

You can tell when hurricane season is.

Only 7,588 unique users in September, but some of them use the site a lot. I suppose the most meaningful other metric is total visits, which were 127,912 for the month so far. Total hits are really misleading, being any single item that is loaded by the page.

If you prefer to embed something manually for any of these sites, you can also do that. For Ustream, you can only embed live videos manually rather than using the above feature. No other sites are currently supported.

If you embed something manually please be aware that due to the security restrictions on some browsers manually entering embedded code may not allow it to appear correctly when you view it. However, after you post the message it will work properly. This will not be a problem if you use the above feature to add embedded content.
