My daughter lives in Hatteras Village. She lost everything in Matthew last year and had to buy all new furniture, etc. They rented a uhaul and put all their new furniture in it and drove it to high ground :) Water is lapping over the boat docks on the sound side now and wind is howling. Hwy 12 (main road down the island) is covered with water in most places. Their yard is about 3 inches deep but the wind hasn't turned around yet. High tide is in the middle of the night.
