Couple observations: I always have found comfort in living where early models are targeting with a developing storm because most of the time it ends up going somewhere else. So if I were in Louisiana right now I would take some comfort from that. I think folks farther east should be particularly vigilant. Secondly, Levi Cowan showed on his update last night the likelihood that a ridge will set up over the top of this system and consequently shear will be low. To me, couple low shear with boiling water and you get something a hell of a lot more intense than models are depicting at present. Will as always be interesting to watch models after we get a named storm out of this invest.
