I don't know if we have a lot of applicable data for tropical storms going over these warm waters in the Caribbean.

While we may or may not debate the cause of warming waters, the water below the surface of the Caribbean Sea holds more heat than it did a decade ago.

it seems like fewer cyclones are passing through the Caribbean over the last decade, but the ones that do form can tap a lot more heat below the surface.

So I'm left to wonder how well our best models have been tested by real world circumstances.
