I got the flu shot in November. First time in my life. Girlfriend talked me into it.
But I do not feel I have a shield of steel around me! lol So as Jim pointed out, wash hands frequently, keep your hands away from your face.
Couple other points...
1. In my truck I carry around antibacterial gel. You can get it anywhere. Also have it in my office and home. Use it frequently. Yea... the alcohol dries out your hands. But who cares
2. If you wear contacts like I do, wash your hand like you are a surgeon before taking them out or putting in.
3. Use those wipes to clean off grocery buggies at Walmart etc.
4. Use a public restroom, yea... wash hands, but use a towel to open the door. No towel... pull out our shirt
You don't have to be super paranoid, just be aware of where everyone else hands have been!
Not sure of the statistics... someone can help, but this year the flu has killed many. Just like a hurricane. But one death in either situation is one too many!
