Re: Floater Links

I'm updating a lot of things right now and a day or two ago I updated the imagery on storm pages:
http://hurricanecity.com/models/models.cgi?basin=al&year=2018&storm=90&latestinvest=1#satellite

For more in-depth information on some of those links, view my satellite page which I also updated within the past month or two:
http://tropicalatlantic.com/satellite/

I wish I knew of some of the nice ones like the old page used to have. (Old page: http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/trop-atl.html  ) I was hoping once GOES-West came online maybe they would update that entire site, removing the old imagery types and replacing it with something new, but I don't know if they will ever update that site. For now it's odd. GOES-West part still works until that satellite switch over happens, if it does. Not sure what is going to happen with what was to be GOES-West.

The new site has it on the Gulf of Mexico page:
https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/GOES16_sectors.php?sector=gm

And I assume eventually one of the two mesoscale floaters, with imagery every minute, will eventually be on it:
https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/MESO_index.php

I've been updating some satellite products in the past several days in addition to other things.

I updated the Google Earth file I have with overlays from Space Science & Engineering Center (SSEC) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison:
http://tropicalatlantic.com/satellite/#ssec_overlays
Only works on Google Earth. But their web based site RealEarth is even better and is linked from the storm page at HurricaneCity in the model system. Although I actually should choose even better links for that site, using GOES-16 imagery rather than Global imagery which updates less often. I'll have to do that.

In other news, I just made the new vortex decoder live in the recon system which decodes the new vortex format. I am still going to make some updates to it and do more testing, but I have it ready for tomorrow in case a vortex message is released.
