Yes, the shear from the north is keeping it from finishing the top of the stack but I can almost see something stirring below. I can't find the satellite images links I used to use before.

RGB would be useful now.

An active lower level center could be hidden below the upper level clouds.

The hwrf and hmon models should be taking that shear into consideration.

My gripe is that there is no time to wait for the NHC to reveal the real center to initiate those models.

There may be no ideal way to avoid the risk of flooding besides evacuations.

New Orleans just got hit with 8 inches about a day ago.

I don't envy those who have to make that call.

False alarms can make future evacuations more difficult.

The latest hmon goes to the east of New Orleans...
