Sonde splashed down at 6:09pm CDT so this should have been factored in to intermediate advisory.

Mean Boundary Level Wind (mean wind in the lowest 500 geopotential meters of the sounding):
- Wind Direction: 35° (from the NE)
- Wind Speed: 143 knots (165 mph)

Deep Layer Mean Wind (average wind over the depth of the sounding):
- Wind Direction: 85° (from the E)
- Wind Speed: 107 knots (123 mph)
- Depth of Sounding: From 686mb to 946mb

Average Wind Over Lowest Available 150 geopotential meters (gpm) of the sounding:
- Lowest 150m: 155 gpm - 5 gpm (509 geo. feet - 16 geo. feet)
- Wind Direction: 35° (from the NE)
- Wind Speed: 137 knots (158 mph)

Highest wind measured on the way down was at 830mb level with a momentary gust of 179 knots (206 mph). Those might be half second winds. Or maybe quarter second. Not sure. As sonde falls from plane to surface it measures wind constantly.

For comparison, highest wind measured on the way down in Dorian was 224 mph. Highest wind measured on the way down in Michael was 186 mph. Of course they don't always capture the strongest winds.

Highest Flt. Lvl. Wind (30s Avg.) so far in Laura:
138 kts (158.8 mph)

Highest SFMR Peak (10s Avg.) Sfc. Wind so far in Laura:
133 kts (153.1 mph)

Highest Flt. Lvl. Wind (30s Avg.) in Michael:
150 kts (173 mph)

Highest SFMR Peak (10s Avg.) Sfc. Wind in Michael:
125 kts (144 mph)

Highest Flt. Lvl. Wind (30s Avg.) in Dorian:
158 kts (182 mph)

Highest SFMR Peak (10s Avg.) Sfc. Wind in Dorian:
177 knots (204 mph) ... which seems high ... so use this reading cautiously
