TS Eta - landfall around noon Saturday in Franklin County, FL

Our Emergency Management Office in Franklin County FL (Alligator Point is in Franklin County) sent out the following alert via email today. I live on Alligator Point in Franklin County.

TS Eta's predicted path is to make landfall around noon Saturday in Franklin County.


"11/10/2020 5:15 PM - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Tropical Storm Eta is now moving across the Gulf of Mexico and has made a Northern Turn. TS Eta's predicted path is to make landfall around noon Saturday in Franklin County. Franklin County is NOT under any Watches or Warnings at this time but expect them to be issued in the next 24-48 hours. EOC Staff will continue to monitor this storm throughout the week.

The track of Tropical Storm Eta continues to be uncertain and the probability of Tropical Storm force winds are increasing.

All citizens who live along the coastline, barrier islands, low lying areas, along the bay and in river areas or in RV's or Campers need to take precautionary measures NOW.
Precautionary Measures.
This includes but is not limited to:
1. Secure yard items such as chairs, umbrellas, etc.
2. Secure Boats and Vehicles - This includes moving to higher ground.
3. Make sure your disaster kit is ready and accessible.

Alligator Point Road has the probability of extreme erosion due to storm surge and wave action. Make your preparations now.

Do Not Drive Through Flooded Areas. TURN AROUND - DON'T DROWN.

Isolated tornadoes will be possible in the outer bands.

BEACHES - Pay close attention to Beach flags. There is an elevated risk of Rip Currents for the next several days. Large and dangerous surf is possible at area beaches. IF RED FLAGS ARE FLYING, STAY OUT OF THE WATER!
