Video of the collapse of the telescope at the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico

On December 1st the telescope collapsed. The telescope had been decommissioned prior to that due to cable breaks. In case you haven't seen it yet, here is the video of the collapse. The second half of the video is from a drone they were flying which caught on camera the cable break that resulted in the entire structure collapsing. It's a really unfortunate to lose such a facility. I really hope they are able to rebuild it in the future.

When the initial cable break occurred at Arecibo over the summer I had seen that China also had a facility like this.

If you zoom in you can see some tiny structures with doors and you can see how small they are in comparison to the structure as it was being constructed.
