Re: Foreclosed Florida homes considered for hurricane housing

Not to mention the homes that are lost in foreclosure are usually in HORRIBLE condition as people have not had the resources to manage them and often before the bank moves in and way after the people move out... they are broken shells, things ripped out, windows broken in to... and I am talking in "good neighborhoods" and those houses would be the least likely not to suffer more storm damage..

What are they thinking?

If the govt wants to go into making low cost housing available to people who have lost their homes that's one thing... but are they going to try and secure them first? Inspect them before hand to make sure the roof was repaired?

Just strange... really strange. Have they driven around and looked at them.. it's a drawing board sort of "what if" idea. My brother is a real estate appraiser as my father was... it is soooo depressing. Every time he has to go out to a foreclosure (which is often) he curses and grids himself to find lord only knows what..most are not places I would want to ride out a storm yet alone live in after... though they do have walls.
