Its F2, We dont use the Enhanced Scale.

First thing to note: Its a F2, Canada does not, and has no plans to use the enhanced Fujita Scale.

As for the region.... for those interested, the Province is divided in five quadrants: NW, NE, SW, GTA, and Eastern Ontario. When you divide the province in two, you got Northern Ontario (NW, NE), and Southern Ontario (SW, GTA and Eastern)

Another thing I heard is that apparently this is the first Tornado in that part of the province since the 1970s - the majority of the Tornadoes are in North Eastern Ontario (the Sault Ste. Marie - Sudbury - North Bay coridor get around 2 to 3 a year) and Southern Ontario (usually 5+)... with the rest of the Tornadoes occuring in the Prairie Provinces. That F5 in Ellie is also Canada's only F5 in history. Kinda ironic though that the people killed are from Oklahoma state.
