Welcome Bobbi to North Carolina

Hello Bobbi, and welcome to the great state of North Carolina!

You mentioned elsewhere that you were starting to learn about the state's weather - well, there's plenty to learn!

From the high mountains with their heavy winter snows, to the Piedmont (where you are) and the Sandhills - in the middle of the state, to the coastal plain and the several capes - this state has a huge range of weather, and some of it very "specialized."

You will come to know of the "semi-permanent trough" that exists in the "Sandhills" part of N.C. (near you.) In winter you'll probably be paying more attention to what goes on around Cape Hatteras and points north. And you'll be better tuned to the fact that N.C. has not one but three capes - and that there's even a fourth in the series (Cape Romaine) along the northern South Carolina Coast.

Unfortunately though - you'll discover you're beyond the reach of our coastal seabreezes, lol! (Sorry 'bout that.) But on the brighter side, the state is experiencing a mild summer for your first year here. (You ain't seen HOT yet, he-he.)

Anyway...again, welcome to North Carolina; I hope you enjoy your stay.

Tim

P.S. What exactly brought you here; and how long do you plan on staying?
