Article concludes by saying that there are separate mechanisms which result in El Nino and La Nina, but the solar cycle plays a distinct role in these events, and can exacerbate or moderate a building or waning El Nino or La Nina. Article says that there is little doubt that solar cycle of 11 years is a large factor in global climate patterns, and that now with computer models and analysis of water temps from past years, we can begin to forecast global weather patterns in conjunction with the solar cycle.
