Really.
Even GFS and CMC conflict on giving accurate shear forecasts.
Maybe better real-time satellite data is needed.
In my opinion, the one great thing that is lacking is real-time surface wind data.
Especially since QuikSCAT is on its last leg; there should be a focus on funding a replacement and doing research on developing a real-time, global measurement method / net.
