Actually, 850mb vorticity is very strong and convection is firing just to the west of it in low shear.
The only problem, it is still in the subsidence zone.
I think your right, once it gets out of the zone, it could have a real chance.
Shear is dropping across the whole Carib.
CMC has it firing up north of Hispaniola Wednesday. Nothing yet on the other global models.
