One could surmise that the 77% is due to the storms making it to 60W while being cushioned under the easterly flow of the ITCZ and a broad Azores high.
One could further surmise that once the storms reached 60W, they were able to then be cushioned and guided under the Bermuda high, and then the high steered into various landmasses.
I bet that's the ticket.
It certainly makes a lot of sense and I can see this one possibly making it to 60W before seeing any appreciable turning. |
