The drop off in X-ray flux has done the trick the last 24 hrs.

I may not be going down the same line of thinking you are; but there is a real correlation on global warm-core intensification vs X-ray flux.

It is pretty clear in my mind that 03 levels in the tropopause are directly proportional to incoming solar x-ray flux.

The heightened 03 levels pushes the tropopause down and blocks any warm cores from developing.

This will be another criteria I will follow from now on.

Thanks for you inputs thru the years.

Some of it is finally sinking in this rusty aging brain of mine.
