Hey Doug, hope you dried out from last year.
Of course it's to early to call, but I'm leaning towards splitting Bermuda and the East coast. The Bermuda ridge hasn't been that impressive this year and there's been a persistent trough in the East. We will see if the ridge can rebound. Some models say yes some say no. Normally I would doubt a 7 day model forecasting a deep amplified low dropping out of Canada into the eastern US in early to mid August. Mid September on yes. But so far this year has been a bit anomalistic in favor of the troughs, so until the ridge holds its own I will buy it. I think it will become a major as I don't see anything ahead for the next 3-5 days to impede it other than forward speed. I think he's going ride under a building ridge in a nice cradle for a TC. There is some really warm water just East and North East of the Islands which i think will really kick him up. |
