Re: Rhode Island Watches?

Cape Cod and the islands may get a TS Watch at the 4:45 pm EDT update, if I had to guess.  Watch Hill is always a popular end point.

Don't know the Canadian Hurricane Centre policy, if it is 48 hours they should be posting hurricane watches on this next advisory.

Sometimes in the past I've gotten a half hour or so head up reading a WFO forecast discussion, because the NHC has a coordination call with local NWS offices and emergency management before they issue advisories, and the discussion will let slip that a watch is coming.

Following snip from NWS BOX morning discussion implies they think a watch may be coming...

SWELLS FROM BILL WILL INCREASE TO ABOUT 10 FT JUST OFFSHORE YIELDING
DANGEROUS SURF AND RIP CURRENTS AT AREA BEACHES SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.
EXPECT SWIMMING RESTRICTIONS OR BEACH CLOSURES THIS WEEKEND...
ESPECIALLY FROM CAPE COD TO THE RHODE ISLAND COAST. IF A TROPICAL
STORM WATCH IS NOT ISSUED FOR A PORTION OF THE COASTLINE LATER
TODAY...THEN A HIGH SURF ADVISORY WILL LIKELY BE ISSUED.
