Placentia? They also have many other fun names there (ie Conception Bay, there are others I wont dare repeat on this forum...).... the British officer must have had one thing on his mind when he started naming the island .... and had another thing to deal 9 or so months later. Feel bad about the town folks and starting the evacuation of the town.
