I know, that is the last image I could find that showed the complete field of rain-rate.
TRMM just caught a small edge.
Looking at the latest IR, I don't think much has changed since and like you say it'll be a good 24 hrs for this to spinup.
It really needs some high rain-rate cells to get going.
