Jake, I tend to favor the last possibility mentioned in your analysis, and in this I guess I'm in agreement with Lawkat too. There's quite a bit of shear in the immediate vicinity of 94l. I look for a disorganized system to maintain a more or less w to wnw path through the Antilles. I think the recent better appearance is a little misleading, because if you look at wv loops, you can see that convection is having a hard time consolidating around a core (shear). So I look for a path toward the central Antilles with little possibility of strengthening until the area south of Hispaniola. At that point, all bets off.
