1.... A lot of SAL around this storm... and out there in general, gets lost in discussions on shear and upper level lows

2... so true, no one remembers what BIG storms looked like when they were being kicked around and barely handing on.

Katrina... I remember Katrina well from Miami, it's like there were two storms... my Katrina and Nola's Katrina.   Andrew out in the middle of the ocean almost dropped from advisories... Andrew later.  Wilma ramping up in like a day. Camille is another one..on some charts she is shown as forming in the Caribbean... however she was a Cape Verde wave...  

Funny how people remember the end so often but not the beginning.

Thank you people on CaneTalk for reminding me of those things.
