I'm posting a link to an article in today's Galveston Daily News. Today is the anniversary of the 1900 storm. One thing I find interesting about Galveston is how the entire grade of the city was raised after 1900. Apparently this involved pumping in a ridiculous amount of sand. There are some great pictures at the Galveston county museum of one of the catholic churches on the island being raised after the 1900 storm. Here is the link to today's article.
