I don't think it's out of the question for October activity but La Nina is way more active with more storms and stronger ones.(Mitch and Wilma)

The fronts that sweep down in october that may cause development aren't as likely in an El nino because the temps are milder. But when one does dig down the water temps will still be ripe but the shear will probobly to strong.
