it looks for now will be a land falling Typhoon on the island of Ishigaki-jima one of the Okinawa Islands of Japan, also known as Okinawa Prefecture.   The National Astronomical Observatory of Japan is there.

18W.EIGHTEEN will become a Typhoon; the Philippians are in the path. For now it looks like several of the lower Philippine islands north of Mindanao are in the possible future path.  It looks like 18W.EIGHTEEN will be a tropical storm passing over Anderson Air Force base, Guam.
