By North Asia correspondent Mark Willacy Posted 1 hour 33 minutes ago. The weather bureau in the Philippines says a massive typhoon predicted to slam into the main island of Luzon has shifted north-ward, away from densely populated areas. But authorities still fear super Typhoon Parma will cause flooding. At an early morning press conference, Philippines senior meteorologist Nathaniel Cruz revealed that typhoon Parma had veered north and was now expected to make landfall at the extreme tip of northern Luzon. He says storm warnings have been downgraded in the centre of the island and lifted completely in Manila. Typhoon Parma is expected to make landfall in the next few hours.
