I hear those arguments a lot about when you look at the last 5,000 50,000 500,00 years etc about how sea level is not rising or the earth is not warming. When you look at the data its the rate of change that is higher now than any time since a major natural event like a meteor strike or a volcano. Not to go off topic but its the same argument between evolution and intelligent design. People who are not true scientists think that they can use the data (out of context) to support their points.
Here is some scary stuff that is happening right now that may foreshadow changes to come..
