Landfall ???

Given this is a late storm and the only one of the year that really posed a threat to the U.S., it is interesting to see how people are dealing with this.

Time  to start thinking about landfall. The official forecast calls for this storm to be about 40-60 miles inland Tuesday around noon with 60 mph sustained (not going to happen). That would bring it onshore somewhere between Navarre Beach and Ft. Walton Beach, FL. This is the same course and strength from both the Navy and Air Force. However, during the past 6 hours Eglin AFB has begun to rethink this along with PNS Pensacola.
Given the upper shear combined with the dry air on both sides it does not appear this will be much of an event. Rain, maybe, but not even a small wind event.

Looks to me it will go well east of the forecast landfall, maybe Apalach area at best.
