WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- The 9NEWS NOW Weather team is expecting perhaps our biggest snow in almost 7 years and maybe one of the top 5 snowstorms in DC history. We have the perfect combination of cold air and abundant moisture converging on the mid-Atlantic.
The intensity of the storm could being snowfall rates of 2 inches per hour or possibly higher along with thunder snow. The snow will be heaviest between 7 AM and 7 PM and travel will be difficult at best. We have raised the earlier prediction of 10"-15"+ now to 12"-24"+ across the DC metro. Some mixing in souther Maryland will keep their totals a little lower. |
