Jac  what I find interesting is last year here in N. Ctr. FL we had a bitter cold unlike any I have ever experienced or heard of, 4 or 5 days in a row of below freezing temps.   This started I believe around Sept and went through February.  Usually we have one day freezing temps and then the temp goes up not long spells of bitter cold.  This year the bitter cold spells are very similar but they started in December.  I could be wrong but I think the correct term for the entire changing process of heat and cold is called climate change.
