BEIJING (AP) - The U.S. Geological Survey reports that a 6.8 magnitude earthquake has struck the China-Russia-North Korea border region.
The temblor struck about 9:15 Thursday morning Beijing time. Office towers in downtown Beijing swayed slightly for about a minute.
The USGS says the epicenter of the quake was 61 miles (98 kilometers) west-southwest of Vladivostok, Russia and about 70 miles (113 kilometers) east from Yanji city in northeast China's Jilin province. |
