I know a lot depends on ENSO, but the Atlantic temperatures are looking a bit warm this year.
Will we have an active 2010 Atlantic hurricane season with an ACE over 150?
The current Atlantic SST's look like they did in February 1998. (ACE = 182, 14 TS, 10 H, 3 MH)
The current Pacific SST's look like they did in February 2003. (ACE = 175, 16 TS, 7 H, 3 MH)
Accumulated Cyclone Energy (ACE)
