Every year ...

has an ominous feeling. I was too young to remember Frederic, except for little fragments. So I didn't have that shell shocked feeling of a major storm demolishing my area.
But after Elena, Opal, Ivan, Katrina, I do get that feeling that every year is going to be that year. You south Florida guys probably still feel that way, all these years after Andrew. Same for any area.
I always think every year is going to have some nasty to it. 2005 did start off having that nasty of all nasties feeling. 2004 felt that way midway through.
I have no feel for 2010, except for the past dread creeping into the mind, just like I am sure it does all of us.
The only thing interesting right now is how much or little this El Nino will play into the season. I think 1998 was a busy year after a characteristic El Nino U.S. winter. So was 2004.
Water temps in places are above average, but so are some places EVERY year.
Anybody getting the impending dread of doom, based on what they see?
Oh, by the way, Bastardi probably thinks NYC will get whacked too. So what's new. Based on that type of prediction, I predict that a hurricane will form in the Atlantic in September and hit land in a historically hit area. BOO YAH! I know, I know, it's like I have ESP. |
