After the Chile earthquake it got me thinking about what might be the most populous regions least impacted by tsunamis. I thought the Mediterranean would probably be one of them. I guess anyone who lives near a coastline anywhere should be made aware that if the water ever recedes, get to higher ground. I guess a lot more places need warning systems too, but if people at the very least had that knowledge it would do some good. Too expensive I guess to plan for something that might or might not happen at anytime or thousands of years from now. Of course even without a siren system and teaching people what it means, you could at the very least have an emergency broadcast system on TV that would reach some people and tell them to get to higher ground. Of course the officials would have to understand the threat and be quick about releasing a warning.
