The Gulf of Guinea is interesting to watch for signs that it is cooling. I am of the opinion that when the Gulf cools, it allows moisture to work it's way up to the north into the Sahel, which feeds increased convection thus keeping a lid on the dust(SAL)Cooler GOG sst's helps wave development in this area i think... When the GOG is in a warm phase, the convection develops further south closer to the GOG , To the north, the Sahel gets baked dry ,& winds kick up the dust ... . |
