Here us the latest SHIPS:
ftp://ftp.tpc.ncep.noaa.gov/atcf/stext/10052400AL9010_ships.txt
Forecasted wind speeds will max out at 42 knots in 24 hrs.
Shear is forecast to drop to about 12 knots in 72 hrs over about 23C water.
It defintely can spin up to higher wide speeds, but none of the models are showing a symmetric warm core being developed.
With convection dislocated from the LLC, I would agree with the models.
