My husband works in local TV news in a place where there are strong storms, and, sadly, this is a very typical reaction. People think the station should only be serving them and ignoring the safety of the hundreds of thousands of people in the entire TV viewing area.  

You can be sure they'll be glued to the set, desperate for news, once this hurricane season revs up.
