The positive side of hurricanes and oil

In the short term the storm would most likely drive the oil further inland and further compound an already terrible situation. And depending on your specific location that could be catastrophic, killing a local economy or even environment. But nature has its own timetable, and in the long run tropical storms would probably act as a cleanser and help to disperse and eventually break down the oil over vast reaches of coastline and thus restore the environment to its previous condition.
