Right... but most pipelines are suppose to have Burms along the side with a slight dig out underneath so if the pipe bursts... most oil is contained, and an emergency stopper notices the reduced flow and shuts down the oil flow. Then, you go in and siphon up the oil. Somebody is blowing up pipelines in BC and Alberta for the past couple years... but there are no catastrophic spills because its all contained with the system above. Canada's Oil Industry is less regulated then that of the States (and you cant solely blame Alberta)... so I'm surprised a similar system is not up down south. |
