| Yes the last Euro shows little (after many runs showing a tropical system or even hurricane) in the Gulf. Remember how after one run showed a system you quite correctly said to wait for a pattern? Well I think the prevailing pattern from both the Euro (and now other models---don't forget about them) is cause for concern. Also, Jac posted the SHIPS Intensity model, which although not perfect is geared toward just that---forecasting intensity, and it confirms what earlier runs of the Euro showed, which is a possible hurricane in the Gulf in five days. That along with the NHC going to Orange Circle for the system I think is more than just cause for concern. Remember, you have to look at models as a whole. and NHC information which tries to give the best possible human interpretation of what the math says. Anyway, I get my model information from this board, and I want to thank you, Jac, and others for keeping us so well informed. |
