I don't know Jack.

Take a look at close-up vis on this link:

http://www.tropicalatlantic.com/satellite/custom/index.htm?satellite=GOES-E%2BCONUS&type=Animation&numframes=10&width=1000&height=800&info=vis&zoom=1&palette=ir.pal&quality=100&map=standard&mapcolor=black&lat=15&lon=-73

You can see an outlfow boundary moving north on the bottom left of the image.

To me, that says surface winds are not moving CCW around the LLC.

The problem is that UL temps maybe a bit too high.

The upper atmosphere didn't cool down last night and there was no diurnal max flare.

I checked NAM and GFS and they are forecasting low instability in the Carib.

I am going to check 500 and 300mb temp forecasts to see if this is what is inhibiting firing some deep convection.

So, far rain rate is real low in the convection.

Need to really see a high rain-rate cell fire in order to reheat the core.

The core looks really crappy now.
