I know it's hard, but I still have trouble believing that Gulf coast residents want the moratorium lifted. When residents of a neighboring state have to bear the brunt just as much, with no recourse, it becomes unfair.   As much as I understand, this has gone beyond a job market that depends on oil.  The consequences far out way the needs of an area that lives off of these company's.  It is truly unfortunate but this can't be allowed to happen again.  There have been several other areas of the country that have been decimated by job loss due to corporate greed in the past without an environmental catastrophe such as this.  As hard as it may be, the industry's that feed off of the oil will have to suffer.  It is not the fault of the government.  It is the fault of the industry itself .   When I hear stories like this one, and I listen to people say they want it lifted because in general it's safe...  it only takes one time.  One time out of 60 years of drilling in the gulf, one time to cost 13 people their lives, one time to destroy an entire ecosystem, and potentially an entire way of life.
