Re: A move north to come?

I think the models are beginning to pick up on an oncoming front which will weaken the ridge along the N Gulf Coast. This was the original thinking expressed by some of the local mets here in La. and was partially reflected in early models. There was wide discrepancy in the early models with some picking up on this, and some not. I really don't know why all models swung so strongly to the south (unless it was perhaps because Alex itself was somewhat further south as it approached the Yucatan than originally thought) making a pick-up by the oncoming front in the US less likely. But I think this model switch back to the north may well continue.
