hey I would'nt rule out the models doing that (even to the FL pan handle), im starting to see a trend with them myself, as far as at the end of each model, it circles around to east northeast.  To me it looks like a timming thing, the longer, or slow it moves the more closer the ENE turn gets to the gulf, hell i dont know..haha, just a thought..:-)
