Here in SW La. We were at the boundary of the diving trough which in N Fl and pushing off the E Coast. You can still see yesterday's storms over La in the 24 hour loop posted below. Unlike normal seabreeze thunderstorms, there was constant lightning, which is more often associated with some disturbance in the upper levels. Pretty used to lightning here along the Gulf Coast, but yesterday was something else. Worst I can remember since an episode in May of 2008 (and it was probably more severe than that one). Hope we don't have a repeat today. I would advise anyone along this trough boundary to be on the look-out this afternoon as the daytime heating kicks in (N Fl). 24 hour loop. http://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/smcd/opdb/aviation/loops/realtime/atlwv_loope.html |
